Girls high school volleyball: 15 Stark County players to watch during the 2023 season

The 2023 high school volleyball season began Saturday with many talented players hoping to lead their teams on deep tournament runs.
 
Here is a look at 15 Stark County players who have a shot to make a big impact this year.

Central Catholic Players: 
 
Maddie Heiser
Central Catholic, sr.
First-team all-county selection in Division III-IV and first-team all-district selection in Division IV in 2022. Helped lead the Crusaders to their first regional berth in five years. Led Central Catholic with a .379 hitting percentage, 348 kills and 102 blocks.
 
Lauren Neisel
Central Catholic, sr.
Reigning Division IV Player of the Year in District IV. Helped lead the Crusaders to their first district title since 2017. First-team all-county selection in Division III-IV. Led Central with 70 aces and an average of 4.0 kills per set.
 
Sydney Turner
Central Catholic, sr.
Helped lead the Crusaders to a Division IV regional semifinal berth last season. Has 1,613 career assists, including a team-leading 868 in 2022. First-team all-county selection in Division III-IV and first-team all-district selection in Division IV.
