Spring sports enjoying much success

Our spring sports teams and athletes are in full swing! Each of our teams has enjoyed victories over the last several days, dozens of Crusader athletes have contributed to the success. 
 
Boys Tennis
The boys tennis team defeated McKinley, 3-2. Winning for the Crusaders were freshman Luke Harley at first singles, freshman Griffin Rohr making his singles debut at second, and senior captain Luke Marsh at third singles. 
 
 
Lacrosse
Lacrosse battled Tuesday evening and came away victorious at Glenoak, winning 10-6. Conner Thomas had 4 goals and 1 assist, Ricky Salvino had 4 goals and Grady Noggle had 2 goals. Rocco Ross had several saves, and the defense of Isaac Ray, John Fabek, John White,
John Shew, and Wes Gaver kept the goals by Glenoak to a minimum. 
 
 
Track & Field
The Crusader Track & Field Team has recently had two strong meets. On Friday Night at Carrollton, the girls track team placed 10th. Placing were Isis Hall in 100 meter, 200 meter and 4 x100, Allison Ries 4 x 800, 4x 400 & 1600M, Caroline Crane in discus, Celeste Levengood 4 x800, 4 x 100, 4 x 400, Anna Winkhart 4 x 800, Lily Bentzel 4 x800, Lily Belden 4 x400, Taylor Magee 4 x400, Molly Marceric 4 x100, and Ellie Buckler 4 x100. The boys team placed 6th. Placing for the boys were Drew Neal 4 x 200, 4 x400, and 1st in 400 meter, Aidan Nasvadi 4 x800, 800, 4 x400, Carlos Cantera Quintero 4 x800, 1600, Easton Miller 4 x800, 4 x400, Grant Eberhardt 4 x800, 3200, Jonathan Stangl shot and discus, Carter Competty 4 x 100, Jeremiah Watts 4 x100, 4 x200, 4x400, Derron Chisolm 4 x200, 4 x100, and Luca Donadeo 4 x100, 4 x200.
 
Tuesday evening, the girls track team defeated Ursuline 69-49. Placing for the girls track team last night vs. Ursuline were Sara Schmidt, Sydney Klemens, Khloe Volpe, Caroline Crane, Talo Saipaia, Alanna Coy, Allison Ries, Lily Belden, Celeste Levengood, Lily Bentzel, Anna Winkhart, Isis Hall, Molly Marceric, Ellie Buckler, and Taylor Magee. Placing for the boys were Grant Eberhardt, Easton Miller, Carlos Cantera-Quintero, Drew Neal, August Cramer, Aidan Nasvadi, Ben Reese, Jeremiah Watts, Brayden Finan, Nick Hallaman, Tommy Grisez, Angelo Rossi, and Jonathan Stangl.
 
 
Baseball
Friday, during Future Crusader Night, Crusader Baseball defeated Revere 15-5. Runs were scored by Pieper, Hilton, Kane, Spitler, Meyer, Earley. Crusaders stole 8 bases from Revere during the game! Earley, Berbari, and Hilton were all on the mound for the game.
 
Tuesday evening, Crusader Baseball defeated Cardinal Mooney, at home, 15-0. Runs were scored by Vlacovsky, Pieper, Hilton, Kane, Spitler, Earley, and Coy. Great work to Coy & Hilton for their pitching game.
 
 
Softball
Our Lady Crusaders are working hard, over the last 8 days, the Lady Crusaders have played in six games!!! Winning four of the six, defeating Hoban, Smithville, CVCA, and Cardinal Mooney. Despite tough play, they fell to Washington and West Holmes. Crusader Softball is holding strong to their 13th place rank and has already been awarded a bye in the first round of tournament games. They will play in round 2 of the OHSAA post-season on May 8th.
