The YWCA of Alliance has honored Caitie (Shimp) Scott, director of The Mount Union Fund and a graduate of STA's Class of 2013, with the Black History Month Leadership and Service Award! Scott garnered several nominations from the Alliance community for the recognition. Caitie is a 2017 Mount Union University graduate. Stacie Bacorn, the executive director of the YWCA of Alliance, praised Scott's community involvement and engagement, citing her as an outstanding model for the Alliance community.

"Receiving this award is truly an honor. I am beyond grateful for the love and endless support that comes from the amazing people in the city of Alliance," said Scott. "I'm thankful for this award and for the opportunity to make a collective difference in the community."
