CCHS Alumna and HOF Trustee Renee Powell Receives Donald Ross Award

Congratulations to Central Catholic alumna Renee Powell (1964) for making history! She was recently awarded the Donald Ross Award for her significant contribution to the game of golf and golf course architecture.

Two years ago, staff from the Central Catholic school newspaper had the opportunity to interview Powell. Our student reporter shared her observation that Ms. Powell built a continuously giving lifestyle upon the foundation of her Catholic education. During her interview, Powell shared her thoughts about what makes Central special, saying that, “I found a huge difference when comparing my early years at a public school to my Catholic school experience. I am grateful to have attended Catholic school because I was embraced into the family and accepted for who I was based upon the content of my character and not my appearance. As a student, I received a better education at a Catholic school.” We are proud to have Renee Powell as part of our Central Catholic family!
