SCCS Kids of Character Nominees (November)

SCCS Kids of Character Nominees (November)

Congratulations to this month's Stark County Catholic Schools Kids of Character and to those who were recognized by the Canton Repository!

Lola Spencer and Ramiro Baten-Hernandez, St. Thomas Aquinas Middle School
Congratulations to Lola Spencer and Ramiro Baten-Hernandez! Their teachers shared that both of them work hard in school, are positive influences, are kind and respectful to both peers and staff, and serve as leaders of the middle school. Great job, Lola and Ramiro!

Spencer Montgomery, SS. Philip and James Catholic School

Spencer Montgomery is very active in serving the community around him. He is a regular volunteer at Perry Helping Perry where he helps sort items. He is president of Twitcher's 4H club where he participates in numerous volunteer activities, including planting flowers at the fairgrounds every year. He is also involved in his church youth group. Spencer is always willing to help out younger students in need and is viewed as a great friend to his peers. You will usually find Spencer smiling and laughing with his peers at SPJ or on the field as a member of the Central Catholic Marching Band.

Lily Morber, SS. Philip and James Catholic School

Lily Morber is a ray of sunshine at SPJ. She is often seen helping younger students with anything they need, including helping them at weekly Mass. Lily is an SPJ Student Ambassador and loves giving tours of our school and sharing her experiences with others. Lily is an active member of her church youth group. Lily can often be seen helping others in her community with various tasks and never turns down helping anyone.

Anna Gosney, Gaida Marshall, and Ruby Mallory, St. Michael Catholic School

These girls were self-motivation to create a volleyball camp for students grades 2-6. They came up with a plan, presented the plan to Ms. Gatti, reserved the gym with the parish office, and wrote a letter home to parents. They charged $5 per student for the entire camp, which was eight sessions, and donated their proceeds to charity.

These girls truly epitomize the idea of "time, talent, and treasure." By taking their time to share their love for volleyball, while mentoring other students, and making a charitable donation at the same time, these girls have truly put their Catholic formation and education into practice through their service to others.

Delmy Cruz-Valle and Junior Romero Ramos, St. Peter Catholic School
Delmy Cruz-Valle and Junior Romero Ramos are both responsible, courteous students who excel in their studies and shine as an example of Christian love and kindness to those around them.  Delmy and Junior have been very dedicated to mastering the English language as their second language and their persistence, and dedication shines through with both displaying the characteristics of a St. Peter Hornet.
